About the Role

The Saltaire & Windhill Medical Partnership is seeking an experienced IT and Data Quality Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our IT strategy, ensuring the effective use of our clinical system (SystmOne) to meet national and local targets, maximize income, and improve patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead on innovation and the best use of IT and SystmOne to benefit the Practice
  • Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of SystmOne products and other software suppliers
  • Build searches and extract data for service improvement, internal and external reporting, and quality improvement
  • Create and provide ongoing management of templates, protocols, and SystmOne alerts for the Practice
  • Develop and maintain the Practice website
  • Provide upskilling training to Practice staff on the use of information systems
  • Lead on analysis of datasets from information systems and data provided from internal and external sources to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Practice
  • Build a working relationship with the NHS IT system provider to maximize the benefit of the service for the Practice
  • Develop robust IT business continuity plans to minimize disruption to the Practice in the event of an NHS IT failure

Information Governance and Data Quality

  • Lead on ensuring best practice in Information Governance
  • Work closely with the ICB, Data Protection Officer, and Information Governance Lead to ensure compliance with technical, cyber, and physical security standards
  • Undertake tasks required or advised under GDPR, including data mapping, reporting data breaches, compiling retention schedules, and compliance audits
  • Manage and oversee agreements with third-party organizations to ensure data is protected appropriately
  • Ensure data sharing agreements are in place with third parties
  • Identify training needs and regular staff updates
  • Maintain an organization training matrix

Person Specification

  • Experience in supervising/managing/training staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to formulate strategy and produce operational policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proven work experience in management, operations, or communication
  • Experience of managing a customer-focused team
