Our client is a leading specialist law firm outside London, known for providing exceptional service to clients within a professional yet friendly environment. They specialize in a wide range of legal areas, including Agriculture & Rural Property, Charities & Social Economy, Education, Employment, Families, Individuals & Trustees, Injured, Disabled or Vulnerable People, Pensions, and Property.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling high-value and technical private client work related to capital tax planning, trusts, asset protection, and succession issues.
  • Advising on capital tax reliefs and opportunities for reduction, particularly in relation to agricultural and/or business assets.
  • Creating and altering trusts, ensuring compliance requirements are met.
  • Drafting wills, letters of wishes, powers of attorney, and other legal documents.
  • Managing all aspects of estate administration, including complex, high-value estates and those involving agricultural and/or business property.
  • Attending meetings and liaising with personal representatives and third parties.
  • Assisting with the valuation of assets, preparing applications for grants of representation, and dealing with HMRC enquiries.
  • Calculating inheritance tax liabilities and advising on methods of reduction.
  • Providing advice on post-death tax planning, including deeds of variation and disclaimer.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Private Client Solicitor with 6 years+ PQE.
  • STEP Membership would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a varied caseload.
