Job Title: Financial Crime Analyst

Job Summary:

The West Brom is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Crime Analyst to join our Financial Crime team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for analyzing and investigating financial crime activities, including reviewing alerts and investigating referrals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulations relating to financial crime and analyze and understand those regulations.
  • Investigate suspicious transactions, suspicious activity alerts, and referrals, and analyze the information to determine if there is any fraudulent activity.
  • Ensure that any third-party Subject Access Requests and suspicious persons or transaction reports are completed within the agreed timescales.
  • Prepare financial crime reports as required and maintain and file clear and concise records.
  • Provide a point of contact for financial crime-related issues and give advice and guidance to staff as and when required.
  • Identify areas of weakness in current procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist and liaise with other financial institutions, the Police, and other Law Enforcement Agencies on investigations on various matters.

Requirements:

  • Confident and professional individual with high motivation and ability to work in a team or under own initiative.
  • Current experience of working in financial crime-related work is essential, ideally with a previous experience within a financial institution.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for this role as the role holder will need to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing for an area that is technical and complex.
  • A willingness to work towards a relevant qualification (if not already held).
  • Previous experience of database mining techniques and Fraud Detection systems such as SIRA, CiFAS, or National Hunter would be desirable.
