Our SEMH Teaching Assistant role in Abingdon offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about improving the well-being of students aged 4-11 years old.

Counsellors and psychologists play a vital part in our team, supporting SEN students with regular visits and sessions to help them cope with learning difficulties or mental illnesses.

This challenging yet rewarding role is perfect for aspiring professionals looking to develop their foundational skills in de-escalation and child-related experience.

The Role:

  • Support students with special educational needs, providing individualised care and attention.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care where necessary, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Contribute to the development of pupil-centred strategies, promoting independence and self-confidence.

Requirements:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification or proven experience in an EYFS or KS1/KS2 setting.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification, at level 2 or above.
  • Live locally to Abingdon.

Salary Information:

The salary for this role is £24,000 per week (full-time), based on a 5-day working week from 8:30am to 3:15pm.
