We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Cooper Lomaz. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in assembling, tuning, and testing machines before dispatch to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble machines to drawings using compressed air tools, ensuring high-quality and precision.
  • Wiring up, running, and testing machines, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Perform chemical and electro-polishing tasks to maintain equipment.
  • Operate a lathe, with suitable training provided, to perform various operations.
  • Use handheld power tools, including drilling, grinding, and polishing, to complete tasks.
  • Perform small welding tasks and spot welding, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Dismantle and repair machinery, using problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
  • Operate a FLT (forklift truck), with full training provided.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required by your line manager.

Person Specification:

  • Preferred skills include:
  • A FLT licence
  • Knowledge of how to read engineering drawings
  • Basic electrical skills
  • Welding skills
