Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to lead our innovative technology projects and manage a small team at WEG Tech, a UK-based SME and R&D Centre of excellence. As a Senior Firmware Development Lead, you will be responsible for designing firmware and embedded software for our product lines, providing technical guidance to team members, and collaborating with various engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Designing firmware and embedded software for use within our organisation's product lines, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Technical Guidance: Providing technical guidance and support to team members, helping them to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with various engineering disciplines, including hardware, software, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of projects.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying areas of improvement and implementing new processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Education: Degree or similar qualification in Electronics Engineering or a comparable subject.
  • Experience: Sustained experience in embedded firmware design, development, and testing, with a strong understanding of EMC design and test experience.
  • Skills: Good exposure in design validation process – FMEA, DFM, experience in creating supporting design documentation, development reports, BoM, build packs, and firmware unit, integration, and system testing.
