About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the aerospace and defence sector. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building strategic relationships with key stakeholders, and driving our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Bid Writing and Strategy: Develop and execute winning bid strategies for grants and contracts, leveraging your expertise in the aerospace and defence industry.
  2. Commercial Development: Maintain a robust CRM system and foster high-frequency engagement with industry and government stakeholders to test our technology and shape our value proposition.
  3. Industry Collaboration: Utilize your extensive network to partner Lodestar with strategic companies, driving our goals and objectives forward.
  4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to business and commercial pitfalls, ensuring our continued success.
Requirements
  • Excellent Writing and Communication Skills: Proven ability to craft compelling bids and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proactivity and Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue new business growth opportunities, with a strong understanding of the aerospace and defence industry.
  • Experience in Winning Non-Dilutive Funding or Commercial Contracts: Proven track record of securing grants and contracts in the aerospace and defence sector.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Strong Network in the Aerospace and Defence Industry: Established relationships with key stakeholders, including government and commercial customers.
  • Familiarity with Government and Commercial Acquisition Processes: In-depth understanding of the acquisition processes and procedures in the aerospace and defence sector.
  • Understanding of Relevant Space Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Hurdles: Familiarity with the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements in the space industry.
  • CRM and Sales Pipeline Management: Proven ability to build, run, and execute a strong CRM system and sales pipeline.
