Job Summary

As a Medical Receptionist at Downland Practice, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients. Your tasks will include:

  • Welcoming patients and handling their queries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Coordinating appointments for a range of chronic health conditions, ensuring seamless communication with our clinical team.
  • Providing administrative support to our clinical team, including data entry and maintaining accurate records.
  • Answering patient calls and online queries, responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Booking appointments and managing our schedule to ensure minimal waiting times.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Reliable, flexible, and willing to learn new skills in a busy and changeable environment.
  • IT confidence with a minimum average typing speed of 35 WPM.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment, with a strong focus on patient satisfaction.
  • Good timekeeping and a sense of humour.
  • Desire to help patients and support the clinical team.
  • Own transport, as public transport in the area is limited.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within healthcare and/or a GP surgery.
  • Medical receptionist/care co-ordinator experience with experience of using Emis Web or another similar clinical system.
