Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant PLC Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our Plant Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of control systems within our water-based units and plant-based equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commissioning or final testing of newly built mobile water assets.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality standards at all times.
  • PLC modifications and fault finding in the regeneration plant, for sites, and on our control systems for mobile water treatment equipment.
  • Fault finding in control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS etc.) through preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Commissioning new and refurbished equipment.
  • Liaison with Assembly, Engineering and Plant Manager in discovery and elimination of unknown issues caused by design.
  • Improvement of electrical consumption and efficiency of the plant to achieve maximum cost savings.
  • Electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Team.
  • Maintain electrical control systems in containers, trailers and skids, including lighting, direct on-line, instrumentation, pumps/motors, etc.
  • Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Participate in training and team meetings and suggest possible improvements.
  • Supervise and direct on-site contractors when required.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites.

Requirements:

  • Experience in industrial electrical works.
  • Previously worked in an industrial area, assembly or other operational role.
  • Proven record of EHS and Quality awareness.
  • Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software.
  • NVQ3 in electrical based units.
  • City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Drawing software training or experience.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Passport to safety or equivalent.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience in the water treatment industry is an advantage.

We offer a competitive salary between 38K and 45K dependent upon experience, 34 days holiday (26 normal plus 8 Bank Holidays), and a long list of benefits including excellent pension, private healthcare with an option for family members, dental plan and 10X life assurance cover plus more including gym membership. Overtime at enhanced rates, and call-out bonuses. Leading pension contribution of up to 10% of your earnings from us every month, doubling your own contribution of 5%.
