Senior Business Solutions Architect

AQA, the largest provider of academic qualifications in the UK, seeks an experienced Business Analyst to lead our Software Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality business solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders.
Job DescriptionThis is a 12-month fixed-term contract position based in Manchester, with a salary range of £53,100 - £59,800 per year. You will work in a hybrid environment, splitting your time between home and office. This role involves providing hands-on support and mentoring to advance the skills of other software solution analysts.
You will join a team working on one of AQA's strategic programmes, reviewing, optimising, and embedding processes supported by innovative technologies. Your work will have a direct impact on assessment services and contribute to transforming them into world-class products.

As a Senior Business Solutions Architect, you will provide leadership on analysis best practices and delivery. You will mentor and coach other team members, driving personal and professional development. Your duties include:
- Providing expert guidance on analysis techniques and producing high-quality artefacts consumable by stakeholders.
- Mentoring and coaching team members to develop their skills and expertise.
- Working with business and technical teams to deliver requirements, identifying business benefits, and proposing solutions.
- Ensuring deliverables are comprehensive, consistent, and accessible, supporting operational benefits.
To succeed in this role, you must possess a broad understanding of business in a commercial or educational environment. You should have expert knowledge of analysis techniques and the ability to analyse and produce accurate artefacts. A degree-level qualification in Software Engineering or a scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is required.
Skills and QualificationsWe are looking for someone with expertise in using various tools and techniques to analyse business processes and recommend improvements. Proven analytical skills to identify business objectives and potential solutions are essential. Demonstrable ability to produce and maintain high-quality documentation is also required.
