Transport Planner Role

Oceanside Logistics Ltd is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to support our rapidly expanding operations in Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Management: Update and maintain our TOPS Transport system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional email and telephone correspondence to our valued customers.
  • Route Optimization: Collaborate with our traffic team to optimize routes for our company fleet and subcontractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Pricing and Routing: Analyze and optimize transport jobs to meet budget requirements.
  • Communication: Liaise with drivers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure seamless job execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Job Status Updates: Keep customers informed of job status updates and late runners in a timely manner.
  • Port Operations: Book VBS slots for vehicles to collect containers efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with TOPS operating system, DP World VBS system, and shipping containers.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK geography.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with the traffic team and other departments to meet daily transport requirements.
