Therapeutic Counsellor

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Adult Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Darlington office. Based on a full-time permanent contract, this role involves delivering one-to-one counselling sessions by phone and face-to-face to individuals who have had suicidal ideation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily counselling sessions as directed by the Counselling Coordinator in the Darlington and/or South Durham area. This includes covering aspects of the rapid response referral process in the absence of the Adult Coordinator.

Key responsibilities include:

• To undertake daily counselling sessions as directed by the Counselling Coordinator.
• In the absence of the Adult Coordinator, you will cover aspects of the rapid response referral process.
• You will also deputise (on occasion) for the Adults Counselling Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum Diploma in or a Foundation Degree in Counselling and hold membership of a professional body. A valid driving licence is also required for work-related purposes.

A competitive salary of £31,200 per annum (£15.50 per hour) based on 35 hours per week is offered. Enhanced DBS checks and two references will be undertaken for all staff and volunteers working with us.
