Job Title: Commercial Property Solicitor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious solicitor to join our Commercial Property Department as a Commercial Property Solicitor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial property law and a proven track record of managing high-value transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of high-value commercial property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and leasing agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on commercial property matters, with a focus on ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting client interests.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as sale agreements, leases, securities, and development contracts.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on property transactions, reviewing title deeds and identifying potential legal risks and liabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, such as planning, litigation, and tax, to offer comprehensive legal services to clients.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with key clients, including developers, landlords, commercial tenants, and financial institutions.
  • Mentor junior solicitors and trainees, providing guidance on commercial property law and best practices.
  • Play an active role in the firm's business development initiatives, including attending networking events, building new client relationships, and enhancing the firm's presence in the market.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial property law.
  • A proven track record of managing high-value commercial property transactions from inception to completion.
  • Full qualification in Scots Law.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly to clients.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload and multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in leadership, mentoring, or managing junior solicitors is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.

Working Hours:

  • 35 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • 09:00 to 17:15.
