About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to lead our Psychosocial Substance Misuse Team at HMP Leicester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a high standard drug and alcohol recovery service to offenders with complex substance misuse problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the direction of the service, ensuring effective service delivery and staff support.
  • Support the recovery practitioners in providing structured work to service users and lead the team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Build and maintain links with community providers, working closely with partners to ensure the needs of each service user are met.
  • Facilitate longer-term psycho-social, CBT-based group work requiring multiple session delivery.
Person Specification
  • Professional qualification (degree & postgraduate or equivalent) and/or relevant experience in a comparative setting.
  • Considerable experience of working within a substance misuse team.
  • Qualification in nursing, social work, probation, psychology, or substance misuse.
