This interim role will lead the development and implementation of the UK-wide public affairs strategy, focusing on key social issues to drive meaningful change in public awareness and policy. The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for government engagement, building and strengthening relationships with key policymakers.
The Public Affairs Manager will be responsible for overseeing impactful digital campaigns to elevate awareness and support. They will work collaboratively with internal teams across advocacy, policy, and communications to design and implement cohesive public affairs initiatives. Additionally, they will oversee and manage reputational matters at both local and national levels, proactively safeguarding the charity's image and credibility in response to emerging issues.
The ideal candidate profile should include an established record of successfully influencing public policy and contributing to high-level public debates to drive meaningful change. Skilled team management experience is essential, including leading and supporting teams to achieve strategic objectives. Strong communication abilities are required, along with exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
A competitive salary of £8,800 per month (£220 per day) inclusive of holiday pay, reflects the value placed on this role by Venn Group. This figure is estimated based on a 35-hour working week over four months. A hybrid working pattern, with two days per week spent in the office, allows for flexibility while maintaining face-to-face interactions.
