Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, breakdowns, and minor installations in light commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out landlord safety certificates, servicing, and breakdowns on boiler systems, installations of boilers and gas-fired water systems, and installation, replacements, servicing, and repair of heat pumps.
  2. Work on a variety of systems and boiler manufacturers, providing detailed remedial repair reports with information on replacement component parts.
  3. Work with vented and unvented hot water cylinders, heating controls such as S-Plan, Y-Plan, and replace component parts such as gas valves, PCBs, TRVs, and zonal heating valves.
  4. Update the company's CAFM system, logging in/out of jobs, and providing detailed job notes/updates of works.
  5. Adhere to health and safety/compliance policies and update the office on availability.
  6. Liaise with clients as needed in a client-facing role.

Requirements:

  1. Domestic Gas Safe Certificates: CCN1 (rate: £17.75 per hour)
  2. Commercial Gas Safe Certificates: COCN1, CODNCO1, or Commercial Changeover (rate: £19.70 per hour)
  3. Additional tickets may grant a higher rate of £20.90 per hour (e.g., Comcat, Oil, LPG)
  4. Experience in maintenance and minor installations in commercial/light commercial environments.
  5. Able to legally work and drive in the UK.

Benefits:

  3. Standard basic hours: 07:00am - 05:30pm, including travel time
  4. Locations: Reading and surrounding areas (within a 60/90-minute radius of home address)
  5. Travel time: D2D (Door to Door) pay minus 30 minutes each way
  6. Overtime rates: x2
  7. Call-out rota: standby 1 in 4 weeks, £1,300 per year standby allowance + D2D travel at overtime rates if called out
  8. Company van, fuel card, uniform, and phone provided
  9. Company pension, 28 days paid annual leave (including bank holidays), etc.
  10. Training and progression opportunities: company-provided gas/HVAC courses (e.g., Commercial changeover, Comcat, LPG, Oil, F-Gas) after 3 months of employment, increasing hourly rate of pay upon completion.
