Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Reputation Management to lead our external and internal communications strategy, enhance our brand reputation, and serve as a key advisor to ExCo. The successful candidate will demonstrate inclusive and effective stakeholder engagement, minimize reputational risk, and promote a clear, authentic message.

The Director of Reputation Management reports into the Chief People Officer and requires the successful candidate to lead the internal, external, and regional communications teams, enhancing and protecting the business's internal and external brand reputation through engaging content. Key responsibilities include leading strategic communications for key business areas, developing an insight-led approach, and executing internal and external communications campaigns. Additionally, the Director of Reputation Management must establish and maintain relationships with key industry analysts, media platforms, journalists, and influencers, and provide monitoring, insight, and commentary on relevant media coverage. This role also includes delivering reactive media response to protect and defend the reputation of the business, actively seeking out best practice, and undertaking competitor media analysis, benchmarking, and reporting. Furthermore, the Director of Reputation Management is accountable for the overall Communications team, providing inspirational leadership that fosters engagement, innovation, performance, and ensures the team is connected to the business's purpose and understands how they contribute to it.

Requirements
  • 7-10 years in a senior leadership role as Head/Director of Communications or Director of Corporate Affairs within one of the following sectors: Facilities Management, Environmental Services, Energy Services, Waste Management, Engineering, Heavy Manufacturing, Utilities, Transport.
  • Able to develop a cohesive strategy, possess gravitas and influence to deliver it with credibility, and demonstrate grit and resilience to uplift the brand in search of best practice/comms perfection.
  • Experience in leading and inspiring teams, commanding respect from senior management, and demonstrating a track-record of leading high-performance, cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and influencing across a large matrixed environment with front-line colleagues.

Estimated Salary: £150,000 per annum (including benefits).
