Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Health and Safety Director to join our team at Allstaff Professional Services Division.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving health and safety cultural transformations in multi-location manufacturing businesses. As a member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the company's health and safety strategy.

About the Role
  • You will lead a team of three health and safety advisors, as well as health and safety committees across multiple sites in Renfrewshire, ensuring that the business operates in compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
  • In collaboration with peers, you will develop a culture where health and safety is front of mind with everyone, every day, empowering employees to take action to protect themselves and their colleagues.
  • You will identify and address capability and knowledge gaps within the direct team and across the business, enabling continuous improvement in health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Lead quarterly health and safety committee meetings and drive continuous improvement actions.
  • Evaluate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent re-occurrence or escalation.
  • Ensure timely submission of RoSPA Awards annually and identify opportunities for further recognition.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ Level 5 Diploma level qualification, with evidence of CPD (IOSH) achievement.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles, with demonstrable success in leading health and safety cultural transformations.
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and customers.
About Us

Allstaff Professional Services Division is a well-established manufacturing client based in Renfrewshire. We have been ISO Health and Safety accredited since 2011 and have recently been awarded RoSPA Gold for the twelfth year in a row.

Our estimated salary range for this role is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
