Mechanical Design Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer Manager to join our team at Pertemps Bond. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering activities across projects, advocating best practices, and ensuring product development meets stakeholder requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead mechanical engineering activities across projects, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Advocate best practices in mechanical engineering, driving innovation and excellence.
- Ensure product development meets stakeholder requirements, delivering high-quality results.
- Manage budgets for people and financial resources, ensuring effective allocation.
- Drive product innovation, identifying new product ideas and opportunities.
- Support business and sales teams with technical support and training, fostering collaboration.
- Focus on achieving business KPIs, driving growth and success.

- Minimum 5 years in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in design and development.
- Management experience, with a proven track record of leading teams.
- Mechanical and FEA CAD experience, with a strong understanding of design principles.
- Working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry, with experience in ATEX/IECEx.
- Influencing and negotiation at multiple organisational levels, with strong communication skills.
- Clear leadership behaviours and collaboration, driving team success.
- High integrity and accountability, with a results-driven mindset.
- Defining and maintaining departmental KPIs, ensuring effective performance.
- Teaching best-practice mechanical engineering, sharing knowledge and expertise.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in key tools.
- Knowledge of materials and steel milling manufacturing processes, with a strong understanding of production.
