Teaching Assistant - Additional Learning Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and supportive individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to provide essential care and support to help your pupil grow and develop. Your role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with the pupil in the mainstream classroom, understanding and engaging with them in every task, and fostering a positive and encouraging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in the mainstream classroom who has Additional Learning Needs
  • Understand and engage with the pupil in every task, ensuring that they stay engaged and learn
  • Foster a positive and encouraging environment, actively supporting the growth and development of your pupil

Requirements:

  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System
  • Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months
  • Strong and resilient when facing challenging behaviour
