Job Title: HR Advisor

We are seeking a skilled HR Advisor to join our team at Tate. As an HR Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with council policies and legislation, and providing expert advice on employment law and HR practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the recruitment process, advising managers on terms, conditions, and equal opportunities, participating in interviews, and preparing job offers.
  2. Ensure all pre-employment checks (right to work, health checks, references, DBS) are completed promptly and accurately recorded.
  3. Securely maintain HR data in line with council policies and legislation.
  4. Provide expert advice on recruitment to managers and staff.
  5. Accurately process contract changes with proper authorisation.
  6. Advise on employment law, HR practices, terms, and council policies.
  7. Offer initial guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  8. Advise on maternity leave and maintain accurate records as per legal deadlines.
  9. Provide advice on occupational health, making and managing referrals as needed.
  10. Give employees relevant HR information about their employment.
  11. Provide recruitment data updates to the Service Lead HR.
  12. Support the Service Lead HR with projects like SAR and FOI requests.
  13. Help develop and deliver corporate training sessions.
  14. Assist in the review and development of HR policies and procedures.
  15. Ensure quality in all tasks and help develop quality control systems.
  16. Complete relevant training for the role.
Requirements:
  1. At least two years working in an HR Team at this level.
  2. Knowledge and experience of applying legislation, guidelines, regulations and industry standard to key areas of responsibilities.
  3. Able to deal with high volumes of work quickly and accurately.
  4. Methodical and organised.
  5. Team player.
