Director of Stakeholder Engagement

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Stakeholder Engagement to lead our external communications efforts, shaping how our organization engages with key stakeholders, including the media, government bodies, and influential groups.
This pivotal role involves representing our brand, fostering positive relationships, and promoting our narrative across various platforms. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to identify, engage, and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including industry, parliamentary, trade unions, and others.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading stakeholder and media engagement, representing us to key national stakeholders and journalists.
- Collaborating with Chair and CEO on their stakeholder activity, advising them on their engagement programmes.
- Developing and implementing proactive strategies to address potential challenges related to stakeholder engagement and media coverage.
- Cultivating relationships with key journalists, media outlets, and influencers to enhance our reputation and manage day-to-day inquiries.
- Staying informed about industry trends, public policy issues, and media landscape changes that may impact the organization.
You will be required to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of stakeholder and media relations efforts, particularly through the annual stakeholder survey. This will involve delivering measurable outcomes and preparing reports for senior management that highlight successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
In addition, you will create compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, and stakeholder reports. Your expertise will help refine stakeholder and media relations strategies to enhance engagement and effectiveness.
We are looking for an experienced professional with:
- A strong track record of working with senior executives to advise and guide their engagement with external audiences.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and media relations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proficiency in media monitoring tools and communication platforms.
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent experience. The salary for this position is estimated at $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
