Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Service Liaison Officer

In this role, you will play a key part in our Commercial Service Team as a professional and experienced HGV Service Advisor. Based in Bicester, we are seeking individuals with HGV and customer service experience within a commercial vehicle setting.

Job Summary:
  • You will deal with customer needs face-to-face and over the phone with a professional and friendly approach
  • Work in Progress (WIP) control for the workshop will be your responsibility
  • MOT and service scheduling tasks will be part of your daily routine
  • You will update customers with vehicle progress, monitor all work to ensure it is completed by the required times, and report any likely delays to the customer
  • You will clarify for the customer and workshop the basis for the repair, whether it's Retail / Warranty / Contract
  • Promoting additional workshop services/repairs where applicable will be one of your key objectives
  • You will identify and add parts to WIPs, ensuring everything runs smoothly
  • You will check the account detail and level of credit left, obtain authorisation, and obtain order numbers from customers
  • You will inform customers of outstanding campaigns and arrange for work to be completed
  • The customer reception area must be maintained to a high professional standard at all times
  • You will order/arrange sub-contract work, ensuring seamless communication with suppliers
  • You will assist and develop parts sales, aiming to meet relevant targets
  • Costing completed work and raising invoices will be your responsibility
  • You will account for all cash, cheques, etc. received and ensure that all work done and parts used are charged to appropriate accounts
  • Buiding rapport with all staff and customers is essential for success in this role
  • You will maintain vehicle history and service records in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner in line with customer requirements and operator licence standards
  • You will maintain invoice filing in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner
  • Staying up-to-date with knowledge and training on all franchise requirements is crucial for this position
  • You will undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required
  • You will enhance the image and reputation of Hunter Knight Recruitment Ltd while supporting its commercial interests
  • Compliance with good health and safety practice, all statutory requirements, company policies, and standard procedures is vital
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills are a must
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills are necessary
  • Proven organisational and administration skills are essential for success

  • Technical knowledge is required
