Five Education Recruitment Limited is working closely with a special school in Taunton to find an exceptional educational support worker. The school prioritises creating nurturing environments for young people, developing their mental and physical wellbeing, and setting them up for success in adulthood.

We require someone with a track record of supporting children and young adults facing complex challenges. A genuine passion for creating inclusive learning spaces, accompanied by excellent communication skills, is paramount.

The selected candidate will support a student requiring additional assistance in managing their behavior, while maintaining collaboration with teaching staff and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).

Main Job Duties:
  • Provide dedicated one-on-one support to a specified student within the classroom and beyond
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to design a tailored approach to meeting the student's academic needs
  • Help students regain their composure and self-regulate their emotions when faced with challenges
  • Offer substantial backing to the class teacher in terms of student and classroom management
Essential Candidate Attributes:
  • Prior experience working with children/youths dealing with severe emotional difficulties
  • Entitlement to work in the UK
  • Adequate professional references and screening clearances
  • Capacity to commit to a regular Monday-to-Friday schedule during school terms (8:30am-3:30pm)

The estimated annual compensation range for this role is £25,000 to £35,000, based on relevant education and prior experience.
