We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to lead our Engineering team at MWH Treatment. This role will be based at our Maple Lodge office with hybrid working available.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead and be responsible for leading projects through their design phases. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are delivered in line with stakeholder requirements and programme expectations.
  • Leading the Design team in delivery of their responsibilities and ensuring a focused approach to meet customer requirements and project objectives.
  • Managing the overall outturn costs for design by producing design deliverables within allocated resource hours and key dates.
  • Organising all elements of design, documenting it in the Design Management Plan and preparing monthly status update reports as necessary.
  • Attending and contributing to all relevant programme, project, and technical meetings.
  • Ensuring that the technical solution is produced to outperform on costs, whilst maintaining quality standards and delivery on time.
  • Providing technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages.
  • Ensuring that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications, following the appropriate systems of work and quality assurance.
  • Contributing to achieving sustainability targets, particularly by reducing embodied and operational Carbon Footprints of solutions.
  • Communicating and working effectively with people from other partner organisations, backgrounds, and disciplines.
  • Providing exceptional customer service both internally and with partners and externally with the client, their customers, and the general public.
  • Representing the whole of the MWH business and RSK Group of companies in all client contacts and promoting the MWH / RSK reputation.
  • Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
