Construction Project Estimator

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing project plans, determining the quantity and cost of materials, equipment, and labor required for each project, and preparing and submitting detailed estimates and bids. You will also work closely with engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the estimation process.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of all estimation documentation, negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers to secure the best material and equipment prices for each project, and staying informed about the latest techniques, materials, and costs within the construction industry to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in bid preparation.
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a proven track record as an estimator or in a similar role, with a minimum of 2 years of experience. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles is also essential, along with excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Main Responsibilities:
- Project Analysis: Review project plans, drawings, schematics, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Cost Calculations: Determine the quantity and cost of materials, equipment, and labor required for each project.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed estimates and bids for projects in accordance with client requirements.
- PQQ and ITT Documentation: Ensure accurate preparation and submission of relevant documentation, including PQQs and ITTs.
- Coordination and Communication: Work closely with engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the estimation process.
- Risk Management: Identify potential financial or operational risks associated with each project and offer mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all estimation documentation, including project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to secure the best material and equipment prices for each project.
- Industry Updates: Stay informed about the latest techniques, materials, and costs within the construction industry to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in bid preparation.
