Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful heavy plant manufacturing company as a Mechanical Shift Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, as well as undertaking projects and improvement work to plant machinery and building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of plant machinery
  • Undertake projects and improvement work to plant machinery and building infrastructure
  • Conduct mechanical equipment inspections and respond to breakdowns in a team environment
  • Maintain and update files and records using the CMMS system
  • Ensure spares are kept to optimum levels and spares used in PPM or repairs are recorded to enable Stores inventory to be updated accurately

Requirements

  • Good mechanical maintenance skills, including experience of planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns
  • Good troubleshooting and diagnostics skills
  • Experience of mechanical equipment inspections and jobs issued via the CMMS schedule
  • Ability to work at height and in confined spaces with relevant training provided
  • Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of MS office packages
  • Good communication and team skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
