Ivy Resource Group is seeking a skilled Yard Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our client's yard in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience in resource management, logistics, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resource Management: Organize equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure efficient yard operations.
  • Logistics and Inventory Control: Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and track inventory levels to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Team Management: Supervise yard staff, assign tasks, and provide support to ensure a productive team.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections and provide training to yard personnel to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Yard Presentation: Maintain the upkeep and organization of the yard to ensure a professional appearance.

Requirements:

  • Yard Manager experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to perform physical work and experience in office-based jobs (admin, paperwork).
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, Forklift ticket - preferred but not essential as the company will train if needed.
  • Previous experience managing/supervising a yard is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate high-level conversations and projects.
