We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate school leader to drive improvement and positive outcomes for children and young people in Fife. As a Headteacher, you will be responsible for the strategic direction of the school, implementing policies, and contributing to the development of a self-improving system.

Qualification, Registration, and Skill Requirements

You are required to have high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to lead and manage the school community. You must demonstrate a commitment to your own professional learning as a school leader and be able to show how this has impacted your practice.

Full General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) registration is required. For Primary posts, you must be fully registered with GTCS in Primary, and for Secondary posts, you must be fully registered with GTCS in Secondary for the specific subject.

You are required to model all behaviour expected of a teacher in Scotland in line with the relevant Professional Standards. Full registration is required for all Permanent posts, and provisional GTCS registration in the relevant sector will be considered for temporary class teacher posts.

Candidates holding GTCS registration in Further Education must also hold Primary or Secondary registration to meet the essential criteria as determined by Fife Council.

As a Headteacher, you will be required to hold the Standard for Headship, which can be achieved through the Scottish Qualification for Headship (SQH), Flexible Route to Headship (FRH), or Into Headship. You will also be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme before confirming your appointment.
