Cook - Residential Care Home

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Ridgeway Care Home. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met and their dietary requirements are catered to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals for residents, adhering to dietary requirements and nutritional standards
  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
  • Order food and supplies, managing kitchen resources effectively
  • Report any issues or concerns raised by residents to the Care Centre Manager
  • Attend mandatory and in-house training sessions to maintain skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering, or equivalent qualification
  • Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
  • Knowledge of textured and modified diets
  • Experience in a care, hospital, or commercial kitchen setting (full training provided)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and relate to residents in a kind and courteous manner
