Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Research Assistant to collaborate with our team in the 6G Cognitive Networking Laboratory at the University of Hertfordshire. As part of our new CPU/GPU Satellite Modem project, funded by the European Space Agency in collaboration with Global Invacom, you will research and develop a software DVB-S2X/DVB-RCS2 Satellite Modem based on Software Defined Radio technology.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline at a minimum of 2:2 (or equivalent level 6 qualification)
  • Understanding of digital communications systems
  • Experience in Matlab, Linux, C/C++, and Python
  • Desirable experience in DVB/Satellite modems, SDRs, and radio transceivers
  • Appointment to this role may require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate
