As a Software Asset Strategist at Willmott Dixon, you will play a critical role in our IT infrastructure. We estimate the salary for this position to be around £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure effective management and control of software asset activities across the organisation. This includes monitoring and reporting on software licence compliance, managing software subscriptions, and optimising costs through data-driven insights.

You will work collaboratively with various IT teams and cross-functional stakeholders to establish, enforce, and monitor software asset management processes, standards, and controls. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and support to IT and business users on software purchases and license terms & conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining an IT software asset strategy aligned with organisational goals
  • Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all software assets and ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition to disposal
  • Maximising ROI by managing the end-to-end software lifecycle, ensuring timely purchase, deployment, re-harvesting, and retirement of products
  • Managing software subscription renewals, maintaining detailed lists of licences and subscription renewals, including expiration dates and renewal periods
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge of software lifecycle management and ITIL framework
  • Experience working with asset management tools and platforms, preferably ServiceNow
  • Proficient with asset management software and able to create high-quality documentation
  • Proven experience in IT software asset management, implementing processes, and systems
  • Ability to analyse data and trends to drive improvements and cost reduction
  • Leadership skills to influence stakeholders with data-driven insights
