Financial Operations Director

Overview
The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial well-being of the company. This includes managing and delivering key aspects of the financial function, such as bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and detailed analysis, with a focus on margin, to understand results and trends.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and collaborate with external audit partners.
- Manage sales ledger reconciliations across various business areas – Ecommerce, Retail, and Trade.
- Lead a team of 3 professionals.
- Develop business reporting to inform quarterly reviews.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and functions.
- Lead on financial analysis to support business decision-making, including preparing monthly sales reports.
- Support performance monitoring against budget and forecast variances with the CEO.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and address development needs for the finance team.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including VAT returns.
- Support cash flow forecasting as needed, providing information on payments and receipts.
- Act as a liaison for showrooms, suppliers, and customers.
- Collaborate with the CEO and management team to optimize resource allocation and cost management.
- Ensure the finance team raises and sends invoices through accounting software.
- Maintain strong relationships with appointed auditors.
- Sign off on monthly payroll, pension, and HMRC submissions.
- E nsure internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
- Drive continuous improvement, ensuring efficient processes and effective controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or an equivalent analytical degree.
- CIMA/ACA/AAT qualification.
- High-level accounting experience in a retail/ecommerce background is essential.
- International experience in import/export.
- Advanced Excel skills and high proficiency in systems are required.
- Strong knowledge and proven experience of financial and general accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Experience working in a high-growth SME environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Management experience leading a highly motivated performing team from a retail industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is £50,000.
