The Role:

As the newly appointed Chief Legal Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding the legal business, working with a range of small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients across various sectors, including retail, leisure, hospitality, technology, property, and services. Your responsibilities will encompass leading and managing the business unit's team, overseeing budgeting, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of legal professionals to deliver high-quality legal services to SME clients.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and expansion of the legal consulting business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and challenges.
  • Provide straightforward legal advice and guidance to clients, with a focus on commercial, governance, data privacy, compliance, and corporate law.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, with a minimum of 10+ years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Extensive expertise in commercial law, ideally focused on the SME market.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand clients' business needs and challenges.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals, SMEs, and high net worth individuals (HNWIs).

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be required to work in the office 4 days a week, with the ability to commute to north London on a daily basis.
