Medical Laboratory Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Care New England Health System.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient specimens to detect, diagnose, and treat various medical conditions.
  2. Operate complex biomedical electronic instrumentation, including calibration, maintenance, and quality assurance.
  3. Perform quality control procedures, including daily testing, recording, and problem resolution.
  4. Review and verify test results for accuracy and reportability.
  5. Maintain a proper inventory of supplies to ensure continuous service.
  6. Evaluate test results for clinical significance and report accordingly.
  7. Stay current with industry developments by attending seminars and reading journals.
  8. Assume supervisory responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology or equivalent, with a minimum of six months of job-related experience. RI License and ASCP/AMT certification required.
