Job Title: Fire Safety Inspecting Officer

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Inspecting Officer to join our team. As a key member of our fire safety team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of fire safety protection and advice are provided to our communities and Primary Authority Partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on our Primary Authority Programme, delivering fire safety audits and regulatory activities in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Work closely with Primary Authority partners, other enforcing authorities, and regulators to advise on compliance issues and provide general information relating to fire safety.
  • Support the DFRS Protection Strategy by conducting fire safety audits and other regulatory activities.
  • Develop and maintain fire safety knowledge across the department and wider service, including training, development, and CPD activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of Fire Safety Level 4 Diploma.
  • Comprehensive experience in enforcing Fire Safety legislation.
  • Ability to apply for the Institute of Fire Engineer's Register of Fire Risk Auditors.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to remain calm in pressured situations.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workloads.
