Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Pipelines Engineer to lead our pipeline engineering team and drive the successful design and execution of pipeline projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering design activities for onshore and offshore rigid pipelines, managing discipline engineers and designers, and ensuring the quality of pipeline work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Design Lead: Manage the engineering design activities for onshore and offshore rigid pipelines across all project phases, including concept selection, FEED, and execution.
  • Team Leadership: Act as Project Design Lead on large projects, managing discipline engineers and designers, and ensuring the quality of pipeline work.
  • Pipeline Activities: Supervise and review pipeline activities, including mechanical design, stress analysis, and installation considerations.
  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with CAD designers to develop layouts and pipeline drawings.
  • Technical Requisitions: Prepare technical requisitions, compile ITTs, and perform bid evaluations.
  • Pipeline Inspection: Validate pipeline inspection and maintenance strategies, including Emergency Pipeline Repair Services.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to manufacturers and check third-party design and installation activities during project execution.
  • Discipline Collaboration: Liaise with other disciplines such as Process, Material and Corrosion, Flow Assurance, and Civil Engineering during project execution.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on pipeline design standards, legislative requirements, and Company HSEQ policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure safety and environmental standards are maintained, and quality assurance processes are followed.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, particularly in the design and installation of onshore and offshore rigid pipelines.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in pipeline design software, including DNVGL SESAM pipeline suite, PET, AutoPipe, and SAGE Profile.
  • Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Ansys, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex is desirable.
  • Code Knowledge: Knowledge of UK and international codes and standards (e.g., BS, DNV, ISO, API, ASME).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork: Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional Development: Motivation to develop into a high-level technical expert.
Qualifications
  • Education: Ideally, a Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Pipeline Engineering, Subsea Pipeline Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
