Our client, a leading Intellectual Property law firm, is seeking a technically skilled Patent Attorney to join their team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a prestigious law firm and contribute to the success of their clients.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing patent portfolios, developing strategies, and handling patent applications. They will work closely with a talented team of associates and trainees to tackle every challenge in patent exploitation and defense.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patent portfolios and develop strategies to protect clients' intellectual property
- Handle patent applications and appeals
- Conduct Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis and Strategic Patent Counseling (SPC)
- Experience with the European Patent Office (EPO) is desirable
- Patent Attorney qualified or Solicitor qualified
- 1-8 years' PQE in a reputable IP practice
- STEM background (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field of study)
- Experience in patent drafting, prosecution, portfolio management, appeals, FTO analysis, SPCs, licensing and commercial agreements, infringement and validity opinions, and strategy counseling is desirable
The team regularly works with clients in various industries, including pharma, AI, semiconductors, biologics, biotechnology and life sciences, electronics and electrical engineering, food, green energy, immunology, medical devices, microbiology, nanotechnology, optics, software, and IT.
