We are pleased to present an exceptional opportunity for a Physician at South Shore Health System, a well-established community hospital. We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologist for a full-time nocturnist role. This position involves working five nights (12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM) within a two-week schedule, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
Role Responsibilities
The nocturnist role encompasses five (5) night shifts (12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM) every two weeks. The schedule offers specific nights with flexibility, allowing for collaboration with fellow anesthesiologists on call. The nocturnist will work alongside Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), with one dedicated to the labor and delivery unit and another in the main operating room. Responsibilities during overnight shifts include providing care for general surgery, trauma, neurosurgical trauma, and overseeing the birthing unit.
Key Duties:
- Supervise patients before, during, and after the administration of anesthesia
- Address complications arising from anesthesia in the postoperative phase
- Manage postoperative pain effectively
- Administer labor analgesia
- Collaborate with various services to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Respond to emergency situations and assist in resuscitation efforts
- Provide care for trauma patients
- Deliver anesthesia services outside of traditional operating room settings
