Senior Systems Engineer (Avionics)

As a Senior Systems Engineer in the Avionics Joint Team (AJT), you will lead the design and qualification of Avionic system changes, gaining broad expertise in Typhoon Avionics and working across its lifecycle with diverse stakeholders.

This role offers a unique chance to collaborate within the Eurofighter consortium, partnering with external companies and customer communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Avionics qualification plans and test requirements
  • Analyse test evidence to assess compliance with qualification plans, advising on non-compliances and potential platform limitations.
  • Collaborate with the Safety team to define minimum testing for Safety Critical Function Chains
  • Manage and address software issues
  • Provide an In-Service Query answer service for urgent customer issues.
  • Support Typhoon Avionics design qualification, working closely with the Avionics Safety

Requirements:

  • Experience with Mission Systems, preferably in aerospace/military.
  • Knowledge of functional test processes at the system/subsystem level.
  • Familiarity with equipment interface specifications.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, adhere to standards, and value configuration control.
  • Knowledge of the Typhoon platform.
  • Experience in trials data analysis, trials management, and design tools and methodologies (e.g., Statemate, Artisan, Rhapsody, UML, DOORS).

The Senior Systems Engineer package:

  • £40,000 - £50,000 base
  • Company pension and benefits package

Candidates must hold the unrestricted right to work within the United Kingdom for National Security Vetting purposes.
