We are pleased to represent our client, an esteemed engineering workshop based near Deeside, in their search for a highly skilled Metrology Engineer.

Job Details

This is a permanent position, offering Monday to Friday work with 8-hour shifts. Overtime opportunities are available. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing metrology processes and procedures for accurate measurement and calibration of equipment
  • Conducting measurement system analysis (MSA) studies to evaluate the capability and reliability of measurement systems
  • Using Leica laser trackers (400 and 900 series) with various attachments for inspections and measurements
  • Analyzing measurement data and generating reports using Spatial Analyzer to present findings and suggest improvements
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve metrology-related issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintaining calibration records and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations
  • Staying current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in metrology
  • Occasional travel within the UK and internationally, with a provided work vehicle and hotel expenses covered
Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of metrology principles, techniques, and equipment
  • Proficiency in metrology software and tools, especially Spatial Analyzer
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
