Job Title: Quality Assurance Gas Engineer

This role is crucial to implementing the CFM quality control and assurance procedures set out within the Gas Safety Policy. Your primary mandate will be to provide a level of assurance to insulate the business, so far as is reasonably practicable, from the risks posed by gas works conducted via self-delivery or third party.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Safety:
    Operate in accordance with CFM Gas Safety Policy, under the guidance of the Gas Quality Assurance Specialist & Head of Gas Safety.
  2. Ensure all gas work completed within your geographical area is performed safely and meets the agreed service standards, prioritising safety and quality.
  3. Possess in-depth knowledge of gas installations under your purview.
  4. Maintain a positive environment in which gas qualified operatives and contractors engage and operate in line with legislation and the CFM Gas Safety Policy.
  5. Develop comprehensive scopes of work for contractors to remediate identified defects across the estate.
  6. Review and verify contractor documentation and accreditations prior to gas installation work commencing.
  7. Participate in continual professional development.
  8. Service:
    Audit gas engineers and gas work in alignment with CFM Gas Safety Policy within your designated area, providing oversight and assurance.
  9. Attend pre-start, progress, and handover meetings for projects involving gas works at sites within your designated area.
  10. Maintain the gas defect tracker with details pertinent to your area, providing detailed information on current gas installation defects across a client's portfolio, including requirements, status, and classification.
  11. Assist in maintaining the validity of gas assets, updating the CAFM system, and conducting asset tagging exercises as needed.
  12. Provide transparent updates on compliance and quality assurance efforts to the Head of Gas Safety and Gas Quality assurance Specialist.
Financial Responsibilities:

Support the HVAC Team where required on the review of operational costs highlighting opportunity on cost savings and cost avoidance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. SVQ/NVQ Level 3 within Heating/Ventilation/Mechanical Equivalent Qualification
  2. ACS Commercial Gas Qualifications COCN, CIGA, CORT, ICPN, CDGA, BMP1, TPCP1/1A as a minimum
  3. ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications CCN1, CENWAT
  4. Level 3 in Auditing Gas Work.
  5. ACS Commercial Catering & Metering (Desirable)
  6. Be registered with IGEM and hold a minimum grade of Engineering Technician.
  7. Fully conversant with all major manufactures systems and equipment.
  8. In depth knowledge of HVAC systems.
  9. Strong PC literacy to include Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint.
  10. Ability to extract, collate and present data.
  11. Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills.
  12. Strong results focus, takes accountability for own performance.
