Job Title: Urban Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Planner with a strong background in residential planning to join our team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of planning applications, providing expert advice on residential developments, and ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing planning assessments for new site appraisals.
  • Lead on all planning applications from Outline/Full and Reserved Matters to the discharging of planning conditions and negotiation of S75 agreements.
  • Prepare and commission planning statements and a range of other planning and technical documents required to support applications.
  • Coordinate and prepare responses to consultations on new and emerging local and national planning policy.
  • Provide mentoring and training junior members of the team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in the private or public sector in the field of development management / development planning. For example, in a Local Authority, Planning Consultancy or with Housebuilder/Developer.
  • Degree / Masters Planning Degree with an RTPI accreditation and a rounded knowledge of planning
  • Ability to adapt to change and to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Proactive and willingness to take the lead on own initiative and under minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
