About the Role

We are looking for a Pollution Prevention Officer to work with us on various projects related to pollution control. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Council's Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy and contributing to the development of policy in the field of pollution prevention.

The estimated salary for this position is £16,670 per annum, based on a 37-hour working week and an hourly rate of £16.67. This figure is in line with the national average for similar roles in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Council's Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy
  • Contribute to the development of policy in the field of pollution prevention
  • Monitor and enforce environmental health legislation

Requirements:

  • Current or past experience in related work
  • An understanding of investigatory, administrative, enforcement, working with people, health or environmental issues
  • Experience in investigation and enforcement, including the initiation of prosecutions
