About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Powertrain Design Engineer to join our team at Arden White Limited. As a key member of our Design Team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of cutting-edge transmission systems for our Formula 1 clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of Formula 1 transmission systems to optimize gear ratios, torque distribution, and overall car performance.
  • Utilize advanced CAD software to model and simulate transmission components and configurations.
  • Collaborate with teams across aerodynamics, chassis engineering, and performance systems to ensure seamless integration of the transmission system.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in transmission technology and apply new innovations to enhance our competitive edge.
  • Oversee the Gearbox Dyno Testing Programmes, ensuring the design and installation of race-ready testing assemblies.
  • Lead the transmission team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality designs under time pressure.
Requirements
  • A Mechanical Engineering Master's Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience with CAD software (e.g., Catia V5/3DX).
  • Proven experience delivering complex engineering projects within motorsport.
  • A deep understanding of engineering first principles and their application to F1 transmission design.
  • Strong knowledge of how design criteria impact overall car performance.
