About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team of professionals working with children and adolescents. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services to young people, focusing on mental health support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for the daily duty system, ensuring timely and accurate risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Provide comprehensive CAMHS assessments of children and young people referred to the team, utilizing evidence-based practices and professional expertise.
  • Collaborate with parents, young people, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Maintain good relationships and clear communication with other agencies and departments, providing specialist advice and support as needed.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the team and service through regular attendance at relevant meetings and taking on responsibilities as negotiated with the line manager.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Specialist with a strong background in working with children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will possess a professional training and registration with a relevant statutory body, such as the NMC, HPC, ACP, or UKCP. A first-level qualification in Occupational Therapy, Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent, with related CAMHS experience, is also essential.
