Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our team at Professional Technical Ltd. As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our clients' building projects comply with the relevant building regulations and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of building projects to ensure compliance with building regulations and associated legislation.
- Produce detailed records of all inspections undertaken, including any defects or non-conformities identified.
- Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendments notices, and final certificates as required.
- Ensure that all relevant inspections have been carried out and appropriate certification submitted before final certification is issued.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records in our database.
- Carry out duties in accordance with our Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
- Deliver a consistent service and build effective relationships with our clients.
- Provide mentoring and support to our trainee and assistant building control surveyors.
- Participate in external meetings with clients as required.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution (e.g. RICS, CABE, CIOB) or working towards.
- Registered as level 2 RBI or higher status.
- Experience in the construction industry, particularly in plan appraisal and inspection of residential developments within Building Control.
- Able to demonstrate a competent understanding and the necessary ability, knowledge, and skill to complete the role successfully.
- Excellent client-facing and relationship-building skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with appropriate interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a varied workload.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, in line with company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, and environmental issues.
- IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programs.
