Senior Forensic Psychiatrist

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team on the Medium Secure Ward at Hellingly Centre. As a Senior Forensic Psychiatrist, you will provide inpatient care to a maximum of 5 male patients, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality specialist assessment, treatment, and care.
About UsSussex Partnership was formed in 2006 as an NHS Trust and became an NHS Foundation Trust with Teaching Trust status in 2008. We deliver services via 4 Divisions, providing leadership for care groups and geographical areas. Our Forensic Healthcare Service is expanding, with 30 Medium Secure beds for men and 15 medium secure beds for women at Hellingly Centre.
Job DescriptionThe main responsibilities include:
- Providing inpatient care to a maximum of 5 male patients on the Medium Secure Ward
- Participating in weekly referrals meetings and peer supervision
- Maintaining good medical practice guidance and operating within relevant guidelines, policies, and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
- Excellent knowledge in specialty and excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- CCT in Forensic Psychiatry (desirable)
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust employs over 4000 staff across Sussex and Surrey, providing mental health, learning disability and wellbeing services. The Hellingly Centre is located near Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN27 4ER.
This post attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, in addition to up to £8000 relocation allowance. The Trust is a training trust, and trainee medical staff are placed within the Hellingly Centre and across the service. CT1-3/ST4-6 support is available when trainees are placed.
