Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Students with SEN: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Prepare Learning Materials: Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources that cater specifically to the diverse requirements of SEN students.
  • Provide One-on-One Support: Offer one-on-one or small group support during lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated.
  • Monitor Progress: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff regarding individual achievements and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is essential.
  • Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of various types of SEN, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dyslexia, ADHD, etc.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience and Empathy: Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in their educational journey.
