About the Role:

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Associate to join its Funds Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the origination, assessment, and execution of fund investments, as well as monitoring and managing a portfolio of signed commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume a significant pro-active role in all aspects of the execution and implementation of fund investments, including preparing drafts of internal approval documents and planning and conducting due diligence as part of the deal team.
  • Ensure that all steps and milestones of the transaction are completed within the specified timeframes, to a high quality.
  • Monitor a portfolio of signed commitments in line with the legal documentation and internal requirements.
  • Assess consent, waiver and amendment requests from fund managers, propose and implement, under the supervision of the Operation Leader and/or the respective Regional/Sector Head, an appropriate response and seek, where necessary, the required internal approvals.
  • Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by more senior investment professionals.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree together with relevant professional experience and/or additional professional qualification such as CFA.
  • Self-motivated and a passion for the investment strategies of the role.
  • Conscientious, reliable, flexible and highly organised, able to prioritise and work independently.
  • Ability to draft/edit well-structured, concise, coherent and accurate long-form documents in professional business English.
  • Excellent command of the spoken and written English language.
  • Fund investment experience, ideally with a fund-of-funds manager, asset management firm, institutional investor in any of the above investment strategies.
  • Investment/investment advisory experience in any of the investment strategies of the role, ideally with a fund manager, asset management firm, institutional investor, investment bank, advisory firm or the investment arm of an EPC contractor.
  • Experience in emerging markets would be an asset.
